About Us
Established in April 2009, HKUST-Hauwei Joint Laboratory is a collaborative R&D lab operated jointly by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. (Huawei) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). It is an innovative model of industry-university research collaboration that aims to connect and inspire researchers from both industry and academia. It is the first Huawei R&D lab in Hong Kong SAR.
Under the theme of next-generation communication and networking technologies, the Laboratory will build cohesion among the research areas of common interest to Huawei and HKUST, and conduct exploratory and state-of-the art research that is expected to make high impact on Huawei, research community as well as the industry.
Mission
To explore cutting-edge telecom networks and wireless technologies and other relevant emerging technologies, thereby bringing impact and benefit to Huawei, the research community and the industry.
Objectives
- To facilitate close collaboration and exchange between Huawei and HKUST
